A short hike from the campsite near the lake takes you to wonderful views of Floe Lake nestled at the base of 1000 meters of vertical limestone - The Rockwall. The larch trees are in full golden splendor in mid to late September. This photo was taken on September 26, 2009 (11:36am).

The larch trees are in full golden splendor in mid to late September. This photo was taken on September 26, 2009 (8:09am). The scale of this scene is hard to appreciate, but the golden larches looking like specks help a bit against that cliff wall that is a kilometer high. The 108 story Sears Tower in Chicago is 448 meters high which is 1/2 the height of this rock face.
